The Twin House
The design of a house for two brothers who desire to live separately but with an equal amount and quality of space posed unique challenges and motivations. One of the primary objectives was to create a cohesive appearance, as if it were a single unit from the inside. Additionally, the principles of vastu, a traditional Indian architectural system, had to be taken into account for each individual house. The design placed a special emphasis on incorporating ample natural light and ventilation throughout the space. Furthermore, promoting interaction between the various spaces within the house was a key consideration, encouraging meaningful engagement amongst the residents. By addressing these design motivations and challenges, a harmonious and functional living environment was successfully achieved for the two brothers.
